Marin has seen a five-fold population increase since our Medical Center first opened its doors back in 1952. That means our community counts on us, now more than ever. That’s why, when California issued a mandate for hospitals to put in place rigorous new regulations in healthcare and seismic safety by 2030, we seized upon this opportunity to build a state-of-the-art hospital for the North Bay.

Our efforts came to fruition in the fall of 2020, when the new Oak Pavilion opened as the newest and safest hospital building in the state of California, a best-practices environment that enables our medical teams to do their best work and improve patient outcomes. Every aspect of the hospital meets or exceeds the latest state-mandated standards for earthquake safety. Take a virtual tour, stroll through our virtual street fair, or view select photos of the Oak Pavilion.

The new, five-story, 260,000-square-foot acute care hospital building houses 114 private patient rooms; an expanded emergency department and trauma center with separate entrances and treatment areas for trauma, psychiatric and high-security patients; and six operating rooms, three of which are equipped with state-of-the-art Interventional Radiology equipment.
